https://e-journals.dinamika.ac.id/society/article/view/1102

The level of digital financial literacy in Indonesia remains below the average of other ASEAN countries such as Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore. This community service program aims to enhance digital financial literacy among members of BMT Center Kube Karanganyar through training on the use of a personal finance application, FINKU. As a leading cooperative in Karanganyar, BMT Center Kube has consistently provided training and empowerment programs for its members. However, many members still do not manage their personal finances routinely or effectively. The program was implemented using a participatory approach, involving not only the delivery of financial literacy materials but also hands-on practice and discussion sessions on the use of the FINKU application. This application helps users record income and expenses, set budgets, and monitor financial goals through integration with banking and e-wallet platforms. The results of the program indicate an improvement in participants' understanding and practical skills in financial management. Participants began to adopt better financial behavior, including regular financial tracking and more conscious budgeting. Furthermore, enhanced personal financial management among members is expected to contribute to a reduction in the cooperative’s non-performing financing (NPF) rate, which in turn can strengthen the financial performance of BMT and increase beneficial for its members.
Azizah FathmaAdinda Putri CahyaniAnis Ulul HikmahAzhar Alam

The demand for horticultural products, particularly the Golden Isis variety of dragon fruit, continues to increase along with population growth and expanding market needs. However, limited land availability, low community skills in cultivation, and disturbances from wild animals have hindered the Mitra Makmur farmer group in Sadamantra Village from meeting this demand. This community service program aims to enhance the community’s capacity in yard-based dragon fruit cultivation as an alternative source of household income, while also strengthening business management and financial administration within the farmer group. The implementation method consisted of five main stages: socialization, training (cultivation, business planning, and financial management), application of simple technologies (lightweight steel poles and solar-powered lamps), mentoring and evaluation, and designing a program sustainability strategy. The results of the program showed a significant improvement in knowledge of cultivation techniques, business plan development skills, and financial literacy. In addition, 25 households successfully realized dragon fruit cultivation in their yards by installing lightweight steel poles as supporting structures. The program also encouraged positive social changes, including increased awareness of productive yard utilization, active involvement of farmer group members in business management, and the emergence of a collaborative culture in collective marketing systems. Thus, this program not only improved the community’s technical skills but also strengthened local economic resilience and opened opportunities for sustainable horticultural business development.

Siti Nuke NurfatimahLia Dwi MartikaWinda OktavianiYoga Dwi SaputraSepira Dwiyanti

The main problem faced by the tour guide community in Lasem is the lack of official and standardized guides that can be used as a common reference in conveying information to tourists. This has an impact on inconsistencies in the delivery of historical and cultural narratives, as well as reducing the quality of the tourism experience. In addition, some guides also still need to improve their communication skills, interesting guiding techniques, and digital media-based promotional strategies. In response to these needs, this community service activity was carried out through a series of collaborative processes between academics and the local community, starting from compiling the content of the “Jelajah Kota Pusaka Lasem” guidebook, training in delivering history-based narratives, to strengthening promotional skills and the use of social media. This activity also involved the cultural community and active guides in the process of compiling materials, validating content with local historians, and conducting guide simulations as a means of practice. This activity uses the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method which places the community as the main subject. The results of this program showed that the mentoring activity succeeded in increasing the understanding, confidence, and quality of narrative delivery by tour guides. The guidebook that was compiled has become a common reference that strengthens the consistency of information and the tourist attraction of Lasem as a heritage city.
Tanah Laut Regency is included in one of the groups of areas that have the potential to experience and be affected by forest and land fires, where the moderate class dominates over the low and high classes. This region has a regulation governing disaster management, namely Regent Regulation No. 79 of 2019 concerning the 2019-2023 Disaster Management Plan. However, the implementation of this regulation has not been optimally felt at the community level due to a lack of socialization and practical application in disaster risk reduction. However, the implementation of non-structural mitigation measures that prioritize community participation has not been fully realized. To support the government's efforts to reduce disaster risk, the BNPB's Disaster Resilient Village program, as outlined in BNPB Regulation No. 1 of 2012, should be implemented. To that end, the objective of this community service activity is to focus on training facilitators who assist communities in identifying potential hazards, vulnerabilities, and capacities, as well as determining disaster risk reduction strategies and building disaster resilience. This activity includes a preparatory stage that covers the selection of facilitator candidates, followed by mentoring activities that include the dissemination of theoretical concepts and practical mentoring practices, and concludes with a learning evaluation. The learning evaluation results show that facilitators are willing to identify and analyze disaster risk assessments covering hazards, vulnerability, and capacity, including reading maps from Google Earth through Focus Group Discussions. The evaluation results indicate the need for follow-up activities to optimize facilitator readiness so that the goal of increasing the capacity of communities to be resilient to forest and land fires can be achieved.
Efrinda Ari AyuningtyasSufie Bhaskara

The lack of a regular maintenance schedule system and millennial farmers' lack of knowledge about maintaining tobacco shredding machines are the issues facing Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) in Magelang. This scenario results in less than ideal shredded quality and frequent machine failures. Enhancing farmers' knowledge and proficiency in maintenance, repair, and information technology use for scheduling machine maintenance is the aim of this community service project. The implementation approach consists of training in the use of basic digital programs to record and arrange maintenance schedules, hands-on machine maintenance and repair practice, and teaching through the supply of materials. Thirteen ladies and seventeen males made up the 30 participants in the exercise. With participants' average comprehension rising from 22% prior to the activity to 86% following it, the outcomes discussed shown a notable improvement. It has been demonstrated that machine maintenance results in finer and more consistent shredded tobacco, and the application of information technology facilitates efficient and sustainable scheduling for participants. The community service project was successful in enhancing the quality of the shredded output, maximizing machine performance, and motivating millennial farmers to be more flexible when it comes to using information technology in tobacco farming.
Angger Bagus PrasetiyoMuhammad Maksum HidayatAlvin ZuhairAntika PrasetyaningtyasFakhril HusainKartinasari Ayuhikmatin Sekarjati

https://e-journals.dinamika.ac.id/society/article/view/1224

The increasing accumulation of Styrofoam waste has become a serious environmental concern due to its non-biodegradable properties and the lack of effective disposal and recycling pathways. Micro- and small-scale enterprises play a strategic role in addressing this issue at the local level, including UD Tiga Putra in Gresik, Indonesia, which is actively involved in Styrofoam waste processing. Before the implementation of this community engagement program, the enterprise encountered several operational challenges, such as the use of outdated processing equipment, limited production capacity, and inadequate managerial and occupational safety practices. In particular, the existing Styrofoam melting machine, with a capacity of 150 kg per day, frequently experienced technical failures and resulted in recycled products of inconsistent quality. To address these constraints, a community partnership program was developed by integrating technological upgrading, occupational health and safety improvement, and managerial capacity strengthening. A newly designed appropriate-technology Styrofoam melting machine with a capacity of 300 kg per day was introduced, leading to a substantial increase in production efficiency and operational stability. This technological enhancement was complemented by structured training on workplace safety, including the proper use of fire extinguishers and personal protective equipment, as well as mentoring on systematic financial record-keeping practices. The program outcomes indicate improved operational reliability, enhanced safety awareness among workers, and greater financial transparency. Overall, the findings demonstrate that an integrated, community-based approach can effectively enhance the resilience and competitiveness of small recycling enterprises while supporting circular economy initiatives and sustainable local economic development.
Gatot SetyonoRodhiyahMiftahul UlumMuhammad Al Khawarizmi Haryadi OgsaBagas Aditya

Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the MEK PCM Rungkut area face challenges in digital literacy, particularly in searching for information online, accessing relevant websites, and using email for business communication. These limitations hinder their operational activities, reduce opportunities to utilize digital platforms, and restrict access to broader market opportunities. This community service program is designed to improve the basic digital skills of MSMEs through digital literacy training on the use of internet and email. The methods employed include observation and interviews to identify partner needs, training on information searching, website access, and email usage, as well as evaluation through pre- and post-tests. Data analysis was conducted using a descriptive approach and the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results showed that 18 out of 20 participants experienced an increase in their post-test scores, with all final scores reaching ≥ 70, indicating that the minimum competency standard had been achieved. The Wilcoxon test yielded a p-value of 0.012 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant improvement in participants' understanding before and after the training. In addition, participants demonstrated positive changes in independently seeking information and using email for business purposes. This study concludes that the program was effective in improving basic digital literacy among MSMEs. Further recommendations include continuous mentoring to support participants in developing more advanced digital skills, particularly in digital marketing and the utilization of other technology-based services.
Mohammad Al HafidzYudha Herlambang Cahya PratamaHerwin Ardianto

https://e-journals.dinamika.ac.id/society/article/view/1209

Labuan Bajo, designated as a super-priority tourism destination in Indonesia, possesses substantial potential for the development of culture-based tourism and the promotion of local products, particularly Manggarai coffee, which is deeply rooted in local traditions. Despite this potential, coffee-based products and experiences have not yet been systematically integrated into tourism offerings, highlighting the need for structured community service initiatives to strengthen coffee micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This program was implemented through two main stages: identification and planning. The identification stage involved field observations and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with coffee MSME actors, local government representatives, travel agents, and community members to map opportunities and challenges in developing coffee-based tourism. The planning stage focused on designing an integrated coffee tourism package, comprising a Coffee Plantation Tour Plan as an educational and cultural tourism experience that introduces visitors to coffee cultivation processes and Manggarai cultural values, as well as a Coffee Souvenir Shopping Plan to position local coffee as a flagship regional product. The results indicate that these planned concepts have the potential to enhance Labuan Bajo’s tourism attractiveness, increase the economic value of local coffee MSMEs, and reinforce local cultural identity. This community service activity has produced an initial design that can serve as a foundation for the development of coffee-based tourism, contributing to inclusive and sustainable local economic growth. Furthermore, future development should advance toward pilot implementation and impact evaluation, supported by strengthened stakeholder partnerships, capacity building, and digital tourism integration to improve market reach and global competitiveness.
Dicky Satria RamadhanAnzar Alfat FirdausAsyifa Nur Laely MunawarohEka Setya Ramadhan
