Abstract

Competition in the cafe and restaurant business demands improved service quality to maintain customer loyalty and comfort. One aspect of service that plays a crucial role yet is often overlooked is the signage and wayfinding system, part of Environmental Graphic Design. This Community Service activity aims to design and implement a signage and wayfinding system at Limasan's Finest Restaurant - Cafe in Sumedang through a participatory design approach. This method is used because it actively involves partners in all stages of the activity, from identifying service problems and mapping information needs through the co-design process to implementation and evaluation, with ongoing mentoring from the community service team. The results of the activity show that the implementation of signage and wayfinding designed in a participatory manner can clarify service flows, increase visitor comfort, and support the cafe's operational efficiency. In addition to producing outputs in the form of a functional and contextual signage system, this activity also increases partners' understanding and capacity in design-based service management.
